Highlights: The Chronicle Herald reported that half of Nova Scotia's six wind projects will be producing power by the end of this year, despite the collapse in the world credit markets.; RMSenergy plans to install 34 wind turbines in the Cobequid Range, just 25 kilometres west of New Glasgow, and is the largest of the six wind projects.; In 2008, Premier Rodney MacDonald announced funding for a centre of excellence in Parrsboro and part of that involves three more tidal power test projects, to be built by the private sector in the Bay of Fundy.; When the tides pass through the narrows between Cape Split and Parrsboro, the flow of water has been clocked as fast as 14 kilometres per hour. It is estimated that 14 billion tones of water move through this area every 6 hours and 15 minutes.
